In this 8 minute TED Talk, Neuroscientist Sara Lazar shows MRI images from people who participated in an 8 week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program. In the study subjects who meditated, visible changes in the Hippocampus and Amygdala demonstrated the effects of meditation on areas of the brain that mediate fear response, memory, learning, decision-making, empathy, compassion, perspective, and effects of aging.
